Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia between India and China located mainly in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. With an estimated population of 26.4 million, it is the 48th largest country by population and 93rd largest country by area. Nepal was a Hindu nation at the time of Monarchs. The erstwhile Hindu state, Nepal was declared a secular state in 2007 after the success of the people's movement of 2006 that saw the abolition of monarchy. Nepal is a secular country.
